Morning all,

Just woke up to find this news story,

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motogp/15420069.stm

Two great racers have departed recently. Simoncelli could have been the next Rossi. My condolences to his family at this sad time.

Just seen this on the news as we watch the Moto GP on a regular basis
It came as a bit of a shock, the way it happened
He was a genuine talent, a real character and above all a real nice guy.
Very sad.
Sincere condolences

Just to echo whats been said above, I've only fallen in love with MotoGP in the last year or so but have always like Simoncelli (sideshow Bob) and have been fascinated by the similarities between his own and Rossi's careers. MotoGP have lost a current and future star and I cannot imagine what his family are going through and my thoughts are with them and Simoncelli RIP Marco.

Yet another horrendous crash as well. I feel sorry for Edwards and Rossi as well even though they couldn't avoid hitting him they must feel terrible about it.

RIP Marco. :(

Absolutely awful accident.. 999 times out of 1000 the bike just slides away from you and you follow it into the gravel.. I couldn't believe the news when I heard it.. I'd actually sky plussed the Eurosport re-run because I can't stand BBC commentary so (luckily) I didn't witness it..

Terrible terrible tragedy.. RIP Marco..
