How to become a member of the PDPA

*Q-School Entries & Information at bottom of page*

PDPA membership is valid for a whole season/calendar year i.e. January 1st – December 31st of that year. The cut off date for all membership applications is Monday 13th January 2014 at ’12.00 noon’ for Tour Card Holders & Q-School entries. No further entries will be accepted after this date/time.

The PDPA will not supply any resignation letters or confirmations in 2014

You can only be a PDPA member if you are: (a) An honorary PDPA member or a PDPA Director: (b) Invited to play on the PDC Pro-Tour in 2014: I.e. Top 64 in PDC OoM after the World Championships i.e. 1-1-14 + any other invites and the 2013 Q-School 2 years Tour Card Qualifiers: (c) Entered and play in the 2014 PDC Q-School OR (d) You qualify for a PDC TV event in 2014 as a day member; you are then required to become a PDPA member prior to play (Not UK Open/PDC World Cup/Grand Slam)

NOTE: If you win a 2 year PDC Tour Card in 2014 you will need to participate in at least 10 Pro-Tour events in 2014 to retain your Tour Card for 2015, if you do not play in a minimum of 10 PDC Pro-Tour events your PDPA membership will be terminated.

    There are 34 PDC Pro-Tour Events in 2014: 20 PC, 6 UKO & 8 ET events

NOTE: If you qualify as a non-member for any PDC TV event (Not UK Open/PDC World Cup/GSOD) you are then required to be an associate PDPA member prior to play. I.e. 400 membership is required prior to the commencement of the event or a prize money deduction form completed.

The PDPA reserves the right to change/alter these rules, in consultation with the PDC & DRA

For Associate Membership via Q-School, you are required to have played at Q-School; Entry alone does not determine Associate Membership. If you enter the Q-School but do not play you will forfeit your entry fee, unless a medical certificate can be issued and a refund will be considered.

If you play at least once you will be classed as an Associate Member

If you become a member of the PDPA during a season by virtue of qualifying for a PDC TV event (See Above) you will also be classed as an associate member, however QSOoM players will take preference in UK Players Championship events (On Deadline Day) when these events have a shortfall of 128. In the event you do not accept a tour card, your membership will not be terminated but you will be unable to play in any UK Pro-Tour events unless otherwise determined by the PDPA, PDC & DRA. You can next play in the 2015 PDC Q-School, unless you are still in the top 64 in the OoM at the time of Tour Cards being offered.

    Great info as per Nato

Seem to remember Peter Manley saying this would be his last throw of the dice at Q school, if he doesn't get a tour card for the 2014 season then he'll be retiring from professional darts

All on PDPA website. Entries open Monday, so expecting first entries in by middle of next week. Just hope they publish the list as they have done previously.

Shaun is out of Alberta here and has been shooting some great darts lately going to the finals in several of the tourneys and won the Canadian Open earlier in the year. I wish him the best of luck, a great young talent.

I would love to Ger. I hope in the next couple of years that I can make the trip to try it. The worst part is it's in January which is right in the middle of our busiest time at work but I hope to be able to make the journey.

The problem for the international players is the VISA issue.

The Canadian Ken MacNeil committed to the tour last year but had to stop because he was unable to renew his VISA

Think i have seen that Suljovic has struggled to come over. Hopefully if they can prove they can support themselves it will start to change, this will only happen with increased prize funds.

The advantage Narain will have over MacNeil is that he can prove that he is good enough to compete in North AMerica and has earned an "income" from playing darts. MacNeil doesnt help himself by not playing the North American tour.

Getting to the events is not cheap nor easy over here. You guys have 2-3 hour drives, we have 3-6 hour flights, and since 80% of the North American Tour is in the USA, the flights are NOT cheap for the Canadians (heck, not cheap for those of us in the USA either) Also Shaun has some family sponsors

But whatever the issues MacNeil has to go to North American events to prove he can earn money and income from Darts to improve his chances of getting visas into the UK.

Shaun is clearly playing some good darts at the moment and it will be interesting to see if he can compete better in Europe when he come over.

Yea, easier said than done. when each trip to the states costs you $1000+ for a chance to win $2000 and that means actually winning....it's very tough to make a go at things

He always gets a mention on 'Dart Talk' for winning or being placed in tournaments.

Still waiting for the PDC to announce entries for this is open on there website. Seems to be slow going. Also no news that i can see for free entries from the Challenger Tour.

Would like to see them offer free entry to the leading players from the regional tables as well. Just to see if you can encourage them onto Main tour or challenger tour.
